Need Motivation To Get Moving Try This App #Running #Walking

If you need some motivation to get off your coach or you just want to get more consistent when you workout I have found just what you need.

Most people are better at putting others needs ahead of their own, especially when it comes to making time to working out.  You know those times when you will go on a walk with your friend or take time out to go to a fitness class because your girlfriend asked you to go, but you won’t go on your own.  It’s natural to want to help others so make that inclination work for you, by turning that desire into action, with this app.

I stumbled upon this app a few days ago when I saw that Beyonce tagged the organization on a Twitter post, when I saw what this organization did I fell in love.  Imagine being able to use an app to get you motivated to move and helping someone at the same time.

Charity Miles, is an app that will donate to a charity on your behalf for every mile that you run, walk or bike.  For every mile you run or walk, they donate $0.25 cents and for every mile you bike they will donate $0.10.  You are donating your time and energy and an organization you love benefits.  Look at it this way, if you do 3 miles a week that is 156 miles a year and that translates into a $39.00 donation for your favorite charity.  Not bad for something you want to do anyway!!

The app is fun to set up and getting started is really easy.  You download the app and get started.  The prompts ask you what charity you want to support and then it asks for permission to access your location and your movements.  A screen comes up and asks you what charity you want to support.  And you get to choose from the list of available options.  I choose to support Stand Up To Cancer, but they had several other great causes to support. I was happy to see GirlUp, and the Wounded Warrior Project just to name a few. The list of charities, wasn’t quite as long as I hoped but perhaps it will expand soon.  Another great feature of the app is knowing that you can change the charity anytime you want so if you are having trouble making up your mind.  Support one charity this month and support another charity next month, you decide.  Whatever it takes to get you motivated and keep you motivated.

The best part about this app is it gives you another reason to get active and get moving.  You know that every time you decide to move you are making an impact.  It feels really good to know that when you go out and log your miles you are helping an organization that is close to your heart get the money that they so desperately need.  It’s a great way to give back and get active all at the same time.  Think about adding it to your phone by clicking here .
