Fashion Week is On The Horizon.
The New York Fashion Week schedule is heating up and you should expect to see tons of pictures of the new Spring fashions filling up timelines on Facebook, Instagram, and Periscope..
Celebrating style and fashion is only part of the excitement. It’s always great to think about how you are going to tweak your closet to add in the news looks for Fall and Spring.
On Thursday, September 3rd, we attended the Fashion Icon Awards at Macy’s in Center City, Philadelphia, PA, where Fern Mallis was honored..
Fern Mallis, may not be a household name to many, but she is a woman whose names moves mountains in many arenas, especially fashion.
Fern has helped many of the designers you know and love, take their fashion dreams from ideas on paper– to the runway, ultimately getting them in stores and then to your closets.

“Widely credited with transforming New York Fashion Week into one of the big four fashion events on the international circuit, native New Yorker Fern Mallis is a celebrated fashion consultant. For ten years, from 1991-2001, she was the executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the country’s governing body of fashion designers and runway shows.”
Fern Mallis’s contributions to the fashion industry earned her the prestigious Fashion Icon award, one of many honors she has received over the years for her contributions.
On Thursday, Fern shared the stage with Philadelphia Councilman David Oh, Kevin Porter and Kerry Scott, the creators of Philly Fashion Week and Nicole Fischelis, Group VP and Fashion Director at Macy’s.
Fern Mallis, signed several copies of her book and the audience had a chance to check out a number of the new fall fashions we can expect to see at Macy’s this season.
