I’ve usually don’t write a 4th of July post, but this year I was inclined to break that tradition. It’s been a interesting year with lots of opportunities to learn.
As I thought about the 4th of July something came to mind, so I figured that I would share it. Independence Day is a reminder of a sacrifice. It is a reminder of the need for change and what people who got frustrated with the status quo finally decided to do about it.
Change Is The Only Constant
Nothing in life is ever the same, because people and the circumstances around us are always changing. Every day that passes leads us into a new season and no day is like the one before it. If you are not developing yourself and growing on purpose you are falling behind.

You can blame the whole world for what you have and what you don’t, but that will NEVER change anything. No one is going to write you a blank check, the best you can hope for is an apology. It will be nice to have, but it won’t mean much long term.
You Have The Power To Change Your Life
Today and everyday you have the power you need to change your life. Anything that you don’t like, any dream you have, any frustration, failure or defeat you have experienced you have the power change.

Go back to school, dismiss the change, read a book, go on YouTube and watch a video, ask questions. We are surrounded by information and opportunities, take advantage of them.
Change Is NEVER Easy, But It Is Always Worth It
If you are overweight, you will have to pay to get it off or you are going to have to work your butt off to release the weight. If you want a promotion, you are going to have to pay your dues and work hard to show that you deserve it or you are going to have to be willing to take a risk and go somewhere else.

The easy way NEVER pays off, it’s the opportunities that you work for that pay the best dividends. Be the one willing to do the hard work, put some persistence on your goals and some fight in your step, you never know just how far it will take you.
You Deserve A Great Life
There are so many things that you can’t control in your life, but there are also things that you can control. You DESERVE a great life, but no one is going to hand it to you. First, you have to define what a great life is and what that means for you and then you have to decide if you are willing to work hard to get it.

Someone fought for every opportunity you have today. The freedom you have right now was paid for by someone else’s sacrifice. You have a responsibility to pay that sacrifice forward by making the world we live in a better place. Choose to shine your light instead of dimming it, be the example. Be kind, be loving, and be great in your own little way.
I have come that you might have life and have it more abundantly – John 10:10
