There are just some foods that are just too good to miss, and waffles is one of them.  Since Saturday, March 25th is International Waffle Day I had to celebrate by grabbing some waffles at Grand Lux Cafe.

I discovered Grand Lux Cafe in October.  I heard people talking about it, but I had no idea what kind of yummy goodness was inside.  When I was invited out to try their desserts I fell in love. I was surprised to find out that the food options they serve at the Grand Lux Cafe are just as delicious as the desserts.

I LOVE good food and I also love it when food is fresh and local.  There is nothing worst than spending your hard earned money and getting food that isn’t good or food that isn’t fresh.  So, when I decided to celebrate International Waffle Day I knew exactly where to go.

(I know I went there for waffles, but this trip wouldn’t be complete without an appetizer right….so, after speaking with our server we decided to give the chicken tacos a try.)

One thing I lOVE about Grand Lux Cafe it how fresh the food is.  Not only does it always taste good, everything that I’ve ever ordered there is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.  Great flavor and everything is made fresh and you can tell.  You can see how great these tacos look, if I didn’t NEED to save room for dessert I would of placed another chicken taco order.  They were light enough to prepare you for the main dish, but heavy enough to wet your palate and get you excited about what is to come.

Normally, I drink water but I decided to give the lemonade a try, especially when they told me they made it and it wasn’t on tap.  My lemonade didn’t just look beautiful, it was sweet and not the least bit tart.  I loved the sugar on the glass, it gave my drink the mature adult feel even though it was alcohol free.  

The menu at Grand Lux Cafe is massive and it is hard to decide what to order, but since I am celebrating I’ve already made my choice.

One of the things I have grown to love about the Grand Lux Cafe is the selection. The variety is amazing and no matter what you order you are never disappointed.

I could of gone for just the traditional waffles, but the Grand Lux Cafe offered a special twist that I just couldn’t turn down.

Chicken and Waffles, a great option for those of us who like a little something extra.

The chicken came out golden brown and the waffles were crisp and delicious.  My plate was covered with powdered sugar, pecans and that maple butter was a complete show stopper.

Although I ordered the chicken and waffles, I just couldn’t stop myself from also ordering the bacon because well, it’s bacon.

The bacon was cooked perfectly, I can’t tell you how much I love it when my food comes out perfect the first time. YUM!!!

Chorizo and Cheese Omelette

Now I will admit, he is more of the adventurous one and I am more of a traditionalist.  Yet, this omelet almost made me change my mind and those golden brown hash browns did not disappoint.  My husband was in love.  Although I did catch him eyeing my chicken and waffles a few times, he was very, very happy with his choice. (Trust me, I wasn’t sharing.)

When everything was said and done, both our plates were almost spotless.  The omelet and the waffles were eaten with thanksgiving and pleasure.  I took home the chicken just so I could leave room for dessert.

Grand Lux Cafe has some AMAZING desserts.  I let my hubby pick out the one he wanted and he picked out one of my personal favorites.  The Sticky Bun Bread Pudding, the sauce, the sauce, the everything.  This dessert did not in anyway disappoint, if you love amazing desserts, this is one you want to add to your list.

International Waffle Day is a great reason to indulge and catch a good meal.  If waffles are a favorite or you just want to check out some amazing food, Grand Lux Cafe will not disappoint.

I had no idea that Grand Lux Cafe even had brunch until someone brought it to my attention.  That is one of the reasons I am sharing this with you.

When we walked in Grand Lux Cafe, I could tell that the Chicken and Waffles entree was a popular choice, when I left I knew why.  I can’t wait to go back and try more items on their menu!
