Have you ever struggled with something that is so simple for other people, but it feels so hard for you.
To be honest, this is kinda of embarrassing to share, but here it is I am going to spill the beans. I don’t know how it happened, or when it happened, but I really struggle with… yes, you heard it, drinking water.
I know how important water is to the healthy functioning of our bodies. Dehydration is real and when our bodies don’t have enough water they just don’t function properly. You would think knowing that our bodies are made up of 60% water, would make things easier, but it doesn’t.
Studies show that over 40% of American’s just don’t drink enough water, so, if that is you I hope here are a few things you can try to help increase your water intake.
Over the past years, I have been looking for solutions that make drinking water just a little bit easier.
Let’s start here.
These are few of my favorite brands of water.[AMAZONPRODUCTS asin=”B005HG9ERW, B004LL7EBM, B004CQWWKY”]
Not all water is created equal. Some water really does taste better than others. I have found a few brands of water that I like better than others, so I make sure I buy that water when I see it. You may want to do your own tests to see, which kind you like the best. If you like the water better you are more likely to drink it.
Measuring your water intake is a step in the right direction. I have an app on my phone, that tells me how much water I should drink, and it also allows me to add a glass of water to the screen so I can visually see I am doing better with my water intake. So rewards and information really does help.
I have a water bottle similar to this one…[AMAZONPRODUCTS asin=”B003BG0Z6E”]
Get a BIG cute water bottle. My bottle is made of glass, which helps the water taste better. It is 20oz. and when I use it I know how much water I drank and it helps me consciously think about drinking more water during my day. It also helps me keep water by my side where ever I go. Go pick up a big glass or a big container that you can keep with you.
Add some fruit. I have learned that adding a little flavor to my water makes it easier to drink it. I have actually added fruit to my water to give it a splash of flavor. I love adding lemon slices, cucumber, and other fruits. They taste great and look nice.
Add Some Natural Flavor With Essential Oils. I have also found that adding orange, lemon, grapefruit oil, and peppermint oil to my water make it even easier to drink, and I have the extra benefits of the oils themselves. For instance, the grapefruit, lemon, and orange oil have weight loss benefits. They can also make me feel full, and help curb my appetite. The peppermint helps me stay more alert and it gives me the extra benefit of settling my stomach, helping my digestion, and helping with my congestion.
