3 Surprisingly Effective Drug-Free & Money Saving Ways To Fight Your Allergies
As much as I love Spring, beautiful flowers, and warmer temperatures, I absolutely HATE allergy season.
Sneezing, coughing, runny noses, post nasal drip they are enough to take the fun out of the sun.
What makes matters worse, at least for me are the allergy medicines that I can actually take. I’m groggy, tired, or I feel like a bouquet of flowers just went down my nose, far from ideal. So, I have learned to explore other options.
Full disclosure: if you know me, you know I am no big fan of RX or over the counter medicines. I personally don’t feel comfortable with the laundry list of side effects that are possible with most of our more popular drugs.
So, I have done some exploring and I have found some fixes that help me make it through the season without having to go through a tissue box, my safe, or without spending those beautiful days locked up inside. So, I wanted to share them with my fellow allergy suffers because they might help you too.
1. The Neti Pot. I love this, and I think it is great. Everyone in our house has their own and in cold and allergy season these are a life saver. It cleans out your nasal passages and makes breathing a lot easier. Just make sure you used distilled water, or spring water. If my symptoms are really bad, I will even use more than one packet.

2. Watch what you eat, and use a probiotic. This may seem like a weird remedy, but what we eat and how we feel are connected. I will often use a probiotic support of some kind as well, to make sure that what I am eating is not making my allergies and my reactions worse. Ask yourself, how you feel after you just eat, especially if you had a flare up of some kind.
This is the brand I like Inner Eco – It’s not dairy, and the taste was pretty good.
3. My new favorite option is essential oils. I have been using Young Living’s Peppermint Oil, and Lavender Oil. Not only have I been amazed that they work, I was super surprised that they work so quickly. There is also another bonus, you can use them as often as you like. Plus, no yucky side effects and they are natural so they work with my body and not against it. With Young Living’s purity, I also can add them to my food, or drinks feeling their effects in seconds, not minutes or hours like regular medication. You can put a few drops in capsules or olive oil (I put mine directly in the oil or in water or tea), directly on your skin, diffuse them, or all three. These two oils also do a number of other things as well, so they are great to have around the house.
If you want to try the allergy bomb you can add the lemon oil, as well
