When I saw Cherry Healy video’s on having a clean bum I had to laugh because it brought back so many funny memories. Visits to the bathroom where I was forced to become a female version of Mcguyver, where my mission was getting someone’s attention, or performing some kind of acrobatics because there was no more toilet paper in the stall. It also made me think of another personal favorite, the road trip. You travel for hours, but ultimately you have to play the gas station restroom roulette. If you are lucky and you get a good one you were fortunate, but if you didn’t you are really afraid of what you might find behind door number one. Since there were no other options, and you really have to go, you have to make do with what you have. I am sure you know what I mean. All great times to have just a little something extra to clean your bum!

So I really was ecstatic when Cottonelle gave me the chance to become a brand ambassador and join them as they spread the word about the Be Kind To Your Behind campaign. Really, who wouldn’t want a clean bum?

There always seems to be a time when you are in the bathroom alone, and you realize something important is missing. Even worse, you find yourself out and about totally unprepared for the occasion because you didn’t check to make sure there was toilet paper in the stall. You may even be fortunate enough to caught the very last piece of toilet paper when you know you needed at least another 1/4 of a roll to feel comfortable, so you just looked for whatever you could find and hope for the best.

With fall right around the corner, I don’t even want to think about all of the times I have been at outdoor events only to find myself wishing I had stopped down the road because I was sure that their facilities must have been better than the option I had in front of me now. Ugh! Even in places you wouldn’t think you would run into a problem. For example, as a woman, it never ceases to amaze me how in what seems like mere minutes, a heavily populated lavatory can go from fine to Ewww. So a woman armed with her own tools is a HOT commodity. I don’t know about you, but I’ve had to many uncomfortable moments looking around for other options that don’t pan out, or sitting there wishing I had gone to the bathroom before I left home. More than a few times I have I literally wanted to kick myself for not being more prepared because I knew in the back of my head that the facilities where we were going would not be like home! So what is a woman to do….

As a young mother I was over prepared, I had everything. My bag, which affectionately became known as a mini medicine chests, got smaller and smaller each year. Surprisingly now that my daughter is older there seems to be more reasons to have something around to clean your bum. So having a little something extra in your purse to wipe your bum is a godsend.

Looking at Cherry Healy video, it instantly became clear how many times I left comfort and freshness behind for absolutely no good reason, other than I just didn’t think about it! What was I thinking passing up comfort, peace of mind, and the refreshment I get from feeling fresh and clean because the thought really didn’t cross my mind. Well I won’t be doing that again!

So over the next couple of weeks we are going to talk a lot about bums. I promise to keep the conversation PG if you promise to listen, but seriously it is just another important conversation that needs our attention. So get your bums wrapped and ready for a good, fresh and fun time and stay tuned!
