It was a beautiful fall day in New York City, especially for an event like Fashion Forward. the brain child of @AudreyMcClelland and @VeraSweeney. They always put together an amazing event. When these ladies come together you can expect great information. You can also expect to find companies that are ready to listen to their customers and understand what they are looking for and what they need! So of course, this is always a great day!
Now, if you’ve been watching the news you know that colder temperature are quickly approaching. It is time to transition our fashions from Summer to Fall, and as much as I hate to admit it the time has come to turn in those shorts and sundresses and find some warm pants, sweaters, coats and boots.
Fashion Forward is always an amazing event full of all kinds of surprises so I was happy I had a chance to go.
I can’t tell you how surprised I was to run into one of the best show companies around when I got there, #Dansko has great shoes that aren’t only cute, but they feel amazing, as well.
Total #Shoecrush Love these new shoes in electric blue.
We had some great drinks from #KeVita. This is the second time I’ve seen there wonderfully delicious drinks this week and I am a huge fan. Not only do they have a great taste, but they are also good for your stomach. I now as germs and colds start going around you want to make sure that your body has everything it needs to fight off any kind of infection. KeVita drinks are a great first line of defense.
At the event, we got a chance to enjoy a fashion show highlighting some of the new fall looks. We also talked to some of the brands to find out what they were working on next. Hopefully, we will have a chance to share some of these amazing looks with you. There were some Great looks from #Matilda #JJill #GweenieBee and #Cabi.
In addition to those great fall looks, there was also some wonderful people. Writers who I have met before, and those who were presenting the awesome info we will be sharing later.
@Chrysula who gave a great talk about our responsibility and the opportunities we have with non profits in the social media space. You really can use your influence to help those who need it.
Estelle also graced us with her presence. It was fun to catch up with so many amazing people.
Such a amazing fashion show, I wish my pictures would of come out lighter so you could see these looks. They had everything from beautiful costumes for your little one to sophisticated looks for woman that take you from a Saturday night date, to school pick up with very little effort.
The event wasn;t all about fashion, learning about the wonderful work going on in the area of childbirth gave me a lot to think about and left me wondering how we could play a larger role in the area of education. It was so great to hear form the founder of Every Mother Counts, she shared her own journey and she talked about why this work is so important to her.
I am hoping to share more about them later…
And of course, I was reunited with my #vacuumcrush #Dyson
Lunch was also great….I definitely am going to try this at home it was a vegan mix with black bean and sweet potatoes… yummy.. yummy.
It was also great to taste these fresh chips and guacamole.
Before we called it a day… I had my face drawn in an espresso cup, Michael was incredibly talented and his artistry was absolutely amazing.
We closed out the night hearing from some great veterans. They were of course kind enough to share some trade secrets and they did a great job encouraging us to continue to share our voices and to look for new and creative ways to share our stories and the things that matter to us.
