A few weeks ago one of my friends encouraged me to wear a little more makeup. I love lip gloss and a few other items, but I knew it was time to spice it up a bit and try something new. Over the last few months, I had tried a few products unsuccessfully, but nothing major so I thought I would try again . For example, in April I decided to give Cover Girl Lip Perfection a try, but after about 7 different shades, I was just worn out.

Although the product was okay, I could never find the perfect shade, and I just didn’t love the feel of the product on my lips. I realized it was time to see the professionals, so I went to one of the places where I knew I could get great answers, good products, and good service! The MAC Cosmetics in the Cherry Hill Mall, Cherry Hill, NJ!

When I walked into the MAC store, Shawn greeted me at the door with a smile, and off we went to find some looks that I would love. I knew I wanted something for my lips that would moisturize them and make them feel good, but I also wanted some pizazz. If you are looking for something new MAC always delivers cutting edge styles, and colors which I love. My goal was simple find something I loved, something that was different, but also something that fit my personal style while I pushed the envelope on style.

Shawn and I tried on about 5 colors until we came up with my favorite. The color was lighter than I thought I would feel comfortable with, but it was nice and it looked good. Shawn and I also picked out a cool blush that could be used on my eyes, and my cheeks, something way beyond my comfort zone. It was two-tone, which gave me three different colors instead of just two, which was an extra added bonus.

I left the store happy with my two new items. My two selections not only had various uses, but they also gave me tons of flexibility and some beautiful style. I have already received compliments on my new colors and can’t wait to share them with you!

If you would like a new look, here are some things you might want to consider.

1. Figure Out What Matters Most To You – do you want a new style, a drastic change, something that complements what you already have, etc.
2. Be Open – Go into the store with some expectations, but don’t be so rigid that you leave the same way you came into the store. You might surprise yourself.
3. Figure out where you can get someone to help you. You may want to make sure that they listen to what you are looking for, they will give you suggestions, but they won’t be so focused on themselves they forget about you.
4. Make sure you like it before you buy it. Shawn and I took time together, and then I took some time all by myself to think about what I thought and what was important to me. He showed me a lot of things some I liked and some I didn’t. I ultimately listened to his suggestion and left my comfort zone, but I was happy with the choices I made.
5. Have fun! The best part about my MAC visit was I made it fun, Shawn and I joked around and had a great time. I played with different shades and enjoyed myself.

It’s a great time to try something new…there are so many great shades to pick from especially in eye shadow, nail polish, and blush. Have fun ladies and push the envelope a bit, you never know what could happen!
