I Started Watching Cartoons Again! Why I’m Excited About The Doc McStuffins Doc Mobile Tour?
When I was young we had cartoons like the Smurfs, Fat Albert, and Bugs Bunny, and now that cartoons are way more advanced let just say I wasn’t all that impressed with some of the choices that were available.
The other day I happened to stumble on this little gem, the Disney Junior cartoon, Doc McStuffin, and boy was I happy I found her. Doc is a young lady who runs a doctor’s clinic out of her backyard playground and uses her medical skills to heal toys as she gains the respect and admiration of toys and friends both near and far. Wow! The power of the image of an intelligent young lady who is a problem solver, who uses her knowledge and power for the good of her community. I love it!
Yes, at my age I was singing the songs, bobbing my head and smiling as Doc shared with her little friends everything from why we should drink more water, to how we should treat our friends, I really just couldn’t get enough. Her parents share important information with her, which she eagerly shares with other, and they are so loving and sweet sharing hugs, and tons of positive and empowering messages, they remind me of the house I grew up in, and the people I saw every day in my community.
In addition, to the positive images, Doc McStuffin’s shares great messages all of us need to listen to and implement. I recently enjoyed the message about drink more water, from the “Engine Nine, Feelin Fine” clip. I found myself laughing at how Doc took her moms message about dehydration, from listening and learning, to teaching. I can only imagine how many young people will be explaining that one to their parents and friends.
The catchy music in the show is also filled with strong and carefully crafted messages we all need to hear. For instance, songs like, “Be Good To Your Tummy, And Your Tummy Will Be Good To You”, which encouraged you to make sure you eat healthy and that you don’t overeat is a song I would sing over and over again, especially in light of the message it relays.
As so many of us are challenged by unhealthy lifestyles and not doing enough to take care of their health, DocMcStuffin is the kind of voice that our children need to hear from more often. Reminding us all, that it is time for our check up, and telling us to stretch, are messages we never outgrow.
This cartoon is delightful! Doc and the other characters were a pleasure to watch and really made me a big fan of the show and of Doc. I can’t get enough of the positive messages and examples that Doc brings out from one episode to the next, so I am going to continue to tune in to see the show and share it with all of the kids in my life.
I also excited to share that the Doc Stuffins Mobile Tour is coming to a city near you! I will be at the one in New York City taking lots of pictures and sharing in all the excitement with my daughter, but I hope you check the tour schedule to see when the tour is coming your way. I encourage you to take your children to the tour so that they can have some fun, and learn from some real life doctors from the Armetis Medical Society. You can also have the Doc McStuffin’s team reinforce the messages that you send to your kids every day in a language that they can actually hear and appreciate. You never know they might even start repeating those messages to friends and family member as they sing all those happy and catchy songs that encourage such great behavior and habits for both the big and little people in their lives. I hope to see you at the #DocMobile Tour, and remember to look out for the new season, which starts on September 6th. @DisneyJuniorUSA

I have got to check and see if this tour is going to be anywhere near me. I live in such a small rinky dink town that not much comes my way. I also need to send this post to our family members with little ones to read.
Thanks for the Heads Up!!

I have no kids, but I am a HUGE Doc McStuffins’ fan! she is now making appearances at Disney too in Hollywood Studios. I want to get a pic with her, but until I have kids I will have to hold off as I might look silly waiting in line not having any littles.

My boys love Doc. I like that the Doc Mobile will allow kids to check out their own stuffed animals and toys!

I have seen this, it is cute and a “good” show for little ones to watch. My kids are grown but my grand daughter will be 3 in October and this is a great show for her to watch.

I hadn’t heard of this show until yesterday when my daughter picked up the book in a store. My son said “that’s on Disney Jr”. I have no idea what’s on Disney Jr since I don’t really watch TV but apparently my toddler has seen the show and recognized them on the book. Granted to say we left the store with the book because she was not putting it down. Times like this I miss living in Brooklyn. 🙁

Oh my gosh that is awesome. My grandchildren would love to see this. I will have to try to see if I can find it and record it for them. The songs are very catchy by the way.

I really like that this cartoon teaches kids about the importance of being healthy. Eating the right foods and getting enough exercise really impacts everything that kids do and definitely has an effect on their academic performance too.

I must admit while I watch plenty of Nickjr, Disneyjr shows are pretty alien to me with the exception of Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Can you tell I have a son? lol. I have passed by the channel while Doc McStuffins is on but my son is just not interested & well he can read {or he memorized} the guide if his fave Nickjr shows are on he knows. I do wish he would give Doc a try though it seems like a great show for him to watch.

What a cute looking cartoon! I bet kids would love the show!

I love Doc McStuffins! I actually really like the fact that she’s not a pretty princess waiting on a prince charming. I like the fact that she’s not blond haired and blue eyed. I like the fact that all her stuffed animals aren’t pink plush and glittery. Stuffy is my favorite. 😉 She’s got such a big heart AND her songs are REALLY catchy! =D

My daughter loves this show. I was disappointed to find that they will be in DC on a school day when she won’t be able to attend. 🙁
