How To Make On Demand Work For You & Why You Should

When I was growing up the summer season meant two things, one here comes the hot weather and a ton of reruns, thankfully now things are different.  Streaming, on demand, and the summer show runs give you more than enough choices to keep the whole family entertained at home or on the go.  My Verizon Fios service, DVR, On Demand and Fios Mobile app make life pretty sweet.

Summer Temperatures Mean More Time Outside

The summer is full of outside activities.  Visits to the beach, cookouts, outside sports, fun and more.  Your schedule may already be unpredictable, but in the summer it seems like things just get worse.  When you are busy you need tools to help you manage your time and your TV.

The Solution I’ve Been Overlooking

I was missing shows I wanted to see and when people told me about shows they were watching it would take me months to catch them because I didn’t have a plan.  I have gotten much better now because I realized not paying attention was costing me money and time.  Using on demand to locate shows I want to see makes it easier to catch shows while they are still free.  I put together a watch list and I have the programs I want to see cued up and ready to go, whether it is a road trip, a hotel stay, a staycation, or a night where I am just chilling at home.

Why You Want To Rock On Demand?

  • Watch whatever you want, whenever you want to see it.
  • Give everyone entertainment options, even if you all decide you want to watch your shows at the same time.
  • Save money

Did you know that learning how to take advantage of your on demand service can save you money?

I found out the hard way that catching your favorite shows after they aired or once they leave on demand can easily cost you $3.00 an episode.  Some re-runs and replays are only free for a limited time, so having a strategy for catching those shows while they are on demand can save you mucho dinero.

I’ve learned that paying attention and planning ahead can save you time and money.  First things first,  know how long you can watch your favorite programs for free.  Look for the date, make your list and know what you want to see and make sure you watch the program during the time period that it’s available and free.  Don’t count on marathons I know some channels have them, but tons of others do not.  Pay attention to the channels that have marathons and know which ones don’t, it’s a great way to save money and keep your budget straight.  It’s a great Verizon Fios feature, one I really love

Summer Fun On Your Schedule

Summer is also a great time to check into all those shows that everyone has been talking about, even if the season is over. On demand should be your first step whenever you want to catch up on a show you missed.  Even some of the shows that got cancelled are on demand, so catch them while you still can.

I love my service and what I love even more is knowing that I have so many options.  If you want to explore Verizon Fios and see what kind of deals they have available click here .  My family and I love the fast internet speeds and the packages that make sense for any budget.

So many great tips, Aida, and you are absolutely right about recording the shows you love or might have missed to watch later or for days when you finally have some down time.
