Well it’s that time of the year, road trips and keeping your kids busy when you are on the road is important, and can help you keep your cool as temperatures rise and you have running around to do
Here are some options you might want to consider if you are looking for some budget friendly options to keep your kids busy and entertained, so you can keep your peace of mind.
Well, I went to Target with a goal $5, and I was on a mission.
My assignment was to create a cute basket full of things for my niece to enjoy, without her parents are on the go.
I love the $1 section in Target, they always have really great options, and I knew I could find something there that would fit the bill.
Well, step one….every great basket has to have a great theme.
HMMMMM!
Karis loves art, so I decided to make her an art themed basket.
She loves to draw and loves to color so this is perfect.
At Target, there was a whole selection of Disney themed items, and it didn’t take long to find our favorite girl, Doc McStuffins.
My daughter and I just started and we were already on a roll. So, it didn’t take long to find exactly what I needed. Bingo! A Doc McStuffins coloring book. I can already see those cute little pictures hanging up on the refrigerator in my brother and sisters house.Hopefully, she will even send one to me.
Just in case, they are on the go, I bought her the activity pack. Stickers, a book, and crayons all packed up and ready to go. This would be perfect as she sits in the car and waits for her brothers to get out of school, during that ride out with mom during the day or just some quiet time by herself. Perfect.
Now we all know that every artist needs great tools, and she is no different. So, the Disney themed markers for boys and then another one for girls, were a perfect match for my budding little artist.
Next my daughter almost squealed with excitement, when she saw this, a gold journal.
It’s not only cute, it is also perfect for a princess. I’m hoping it makes it to my niece, because my teenager surely had her eyes on it. SOLD!
Last, but not least both my daughter and I saw these cute little Crayola Crayon themed tissues. Not only are they adorable, they are functional. I mean what young lady wouldn’t love pink or purple tissues. All done!
In five minutes, with only five dollars my daughter and I put together the perfect basket.
No candy. or junk, just good old creative fun that should help my niece fill her day with smiles, and will hopefully give her hours of enjoyment. Most of all, it should help her create some fun memories that she can share with us when we see her again.

This is great Aida! I can’t believe you found all of this in the dollar spot at Target. My little girl loves Doc McStuffins, so I’ll have to see if they have that coloring book for her. You rocked this!
