If shopping for Father’s Day scares you to death, or you are running out of fresh ideas about what to buy, here are some things that you may want to consider. Yes, we really do love dad, but it’s hard to by something for the guy who well doesn’t always tell you what he wants, so for many people this week is going to be stressful.
Let’s take a long hard look at the facts. Your father probably has a closet full of ties, and both you and him are sick of buying those, but what do you get the guy, who is so hard to shop for…..
Things that make you go hmmm.
Well, if you are all out ideas don’t worry, because we have a few suggestions that just might fit.
So here we go!
Entertainment is always a great gift for that special guy. You just have to know what he likes.
If your dad likes the movies, to be on the safe side, try a comedy, an action flick, or a drama.
Here are a few suggestions to get you started.
Ride Along This is one of the top comedies on DVD this year.. it was funny, but it also had drama and action.
If you are looking for a real life action movie try this one.
Lone Survivor, was a movie honoring several soldiers who died while completing a special mission. It is a based on a true story. It highlights the story of a team that found themselves in the heat of battle, unable to get out without considerable collateral damage. This was an excellent movie. A Must See!
If you are looking for a great movie for a father of any age, that would also be great for the family check out this movie.
The Son of GOD, was just released this past week. It is the story of the works of Jesus, in a way never told before. This is a must see, and a must have that I am sure you will be viewing over and over again.
If movies aren’t your dad’s thing…try something from the tech arena.
The Galaxy 3 Note Lite is a popular tablet and it would be perfect for your favorite guy. It gives you the benefits of a larger tablet, in a smaller package. It’s affordable, and useful. Promising hours of fun, as well as convenience.
If your father loves to have information at his fingertips. The Kindle Fire is another great gift. He can read books on the go, watch movies, search the web, you name it. The price isn’t too bad either.
For that gamer in your house… no not the little one, the big one. You may want to upgrade his console, or get a nice game you know he will enjoy. There are two relatively new game consoles out that would probably put a smile on his face, if he doesn’t already have them.
PlayStation 4
With a lot of brand new features and extras, like personal curated content, dual shock controllers, and shared game experiences, just to name a few. This will surely make some dad’s really happy this Father’s Day. Just in case you don’t follow these, it’s the number one gaming system right now. So, if you are looking to make a statement, it’s something to look into. I see smiles all around.
Xbox One is another hot gaming system. I know I was shocked when I heard about some of the features including this one..this console will even turn your TV on for you..all you have to say is.. TV on, I know lots of dads who would want it just for that. Some of the benefits of this gaming system seem to be convenience, which is a big seller when it comes to dads. You can go from gaming, to TV, to movies as well another hot selling point. Of course, it gives you the benefit of also being able to Skype, it has Kinect so you can tap into the fitness world, or active games, so you have both performance and power.
Fitness
If your dad, is a fitness fanatic there are a number of great choices available to you.
I just saw this and it looks like it would be a lot of fun for the active dad.
Magellan Echo Smart Sports Watch
There are two versions of this watch, one with a heart rate monitor and one without. At a glance, you can see distance, pace, heart rate, yards to green and more from sports apps in real-time. Not inspired by your current song? Echo gives you convenient control over your music. With Echo you can start, skip and pause any song so you’ll never miss a beat. I think I like this one myself…
If the Magellan wasn’t quite the right fit.. you may want to look into FitBit.
You wear it all the time, and it measures things like how you sleep, how many steps you take everyday, calories burned, and more. Dad can wear this slim, stylish device all the time and get the motivation he needs to get out and be more active. It shows you how you’re stacking up against your daily goals. At night, it tracks your sleep cycle, helps you learn how to sleep better, and wakes you silently in the morning. Another great feature is that dad will have access to his stats anytime on his computer, tablet, or from his smartphones – both iPhone and Android. He can even wear it in the shower.
If none of these work for your dad, I find that there are always to great go to gifts that offer a lot of variety…Books and gift cards are always a winner, so if you are really stuck.. they might be your best bet.
Well here are just a few great tips.. check them out, and check back because we may even add a few more.
