These words are not just eloquently, they are painfully true. A lesson only age and time can teach. Yet it is those words that grabbed me out of my seat and made me pay attention as I watched the trailer.
This movie is based on two love stories, one past and one present. It takes us on a walk through the lives of two couple in love at two very different times of their lives. As we travel with them, we are reminded of how beautiful and challenging love can be as we explore life, our individual differences and consider our options.
The question in essence that they ask us to think about is what is worth sacrificing for, a question far to many of us ask before it is too late, if we ever ask it at all.
We see these couples exploring love in two very different seasons of life, during two very different time periods and we watch life happen around them. What will happen to Luke and Sophia and Ira and Ruth as they answer the question life sends their way?
Surprisingly, these stories come together in a way I know I didn’t expect but blend together so beautifully even I had no idea what was in store.
Love in all it’s phases is incredibly complicated, it often costs more than we ever expect to pay. Despite all that it can be worth everything you pay and more.

I watched Ruth and Ira and Sophia and Luke evolve. They struggle through questions and make choices that both secure and tear apart their relationships. Hurt, pain and fear come in so many shapes and sizes in our love relationship, we often have to decide whether they are worth it. When you love someone you are exposed and vulnerable, yet love is an incredible force to be reckoned with, a treasure with priceless inconceivable value.
Love is a gift, it is not something you can earn or buy, it is given to you. Just like anything of value, you must take care of it, cultivate it, invest in it and care for it. If you don’t, you risk losing it forever to someone who knows it’s value and who will treat it the way it deserve to be treated.

Then there are those relationships that are not worth the fight, there are times when you have to walk away. In life, you must choose what is worth your time, your life, your love and then you must decide what you are willing to give up to sustain your relationships and make them grow.
There is a moment in the movie that both characters have to decide what they are willing to give up for love. To see the struggles both face trying to answer that question is thought provoking and insightful.
As you might imagine, I loved the movie and I will surely be adding it to my DVD or digital collection once it is released. I hope you decide to see it too, it is well worth the price of admission.
