The long awaited new comedy featuring Kevin Hart The Wedding Ringer was just released on 1/16. I was fortunate enough to see it and I will be sharing my opinion of this movie with you. I will try really hard not to spoil it for you, or at the bare minimum I will give you a warning first. So, if you have been on the fence or you are just wondering what others thought of the movie keep reading.
Kevin Hart is a comedian who is responsible for a number of blockbuster hits. He is known for his comedy, making light of his height and over the last few years he is one of Hollywood’s favorite new comedies.
Jimmy (played by Kevin Hart), is a man who knows a need when he sees one. His company Best Man, Inc. provides a very important service for men in need, for a nominal fee he will become your perfect best man.
Not only does he provide services on your special day, he also makes sure you have everything from great advice to momentos of the times you and him spent together. He knows your back story, or he creates one of his own. Jimmy wazzles and dazzles your family, guest and your bride with comments and speeches that make you look like you should of won the Nobel Peace prize. Not bad right!
Doug desperate to save face and not look like a liar and a loser in front of his beautiful fiancé, who he feels is totally out of his league, goes to Jimmy hoping he can solve his problem. When Jimmy meets Doug who is getting married in 10 days, he has his hands full. Doug doesn’t just need a best man, he needs a whole party of groomsmen.
Dance lessons to make sure Doug will look great on his big day, funny pictures of things they have done in the past are just the beginning for these two gentleman.
When Jimmy is reminded of why he got in this business in the first place and Doug goes through this experience of hanging out with this new group of male friends something happens…
The Verdict:
If you like Kevin Hart go see the film, it’s not my favorite Kevin Hart movie, but it was pretty good. There were a few parts of the movie I really enjoyed and there were also some really funny parts. Since I am a big fan of the message, or at least attempting to find one, I loved some of the lessons in the film. If your goal is laughing from the time you sit in your seat, this is probably not the movie for you, but if you want to see a moderately funny movie with some redeeming qualities go and check it out.
