Every day families around the country are effected by Domestic Violence.
You may remember seeing women or men with black eyes or some other scaring, but that is not the whole story. People may know that victims have to deal with the physical and emotional damages of abuse, but people often forget about the economic consequences they have to deal with, as well.
Over the past few months, I have found several companies who are helping domestic violence victims by doing their part. Whether it’s money, food, support, phones or time all of these gifts make a big impact in this fight. Whenever I find out about services or programs that lend a helping hand I try to share them. I also like to share practical ways that people like me and you can help, so this initiative seemed like a perfect match.
Hair Cuttery is partnering with National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) to support victims of domestic violence. On Monday and Tuesday, May 2-3, for every haircut purchased at one of Hair Cuttery’s nearly 900 salons, a free haircut certificate will be donated to a victim of domestic violence through NNEDV’s member programs. With the Share-A-Haircut initiative you can help the Hair Cuttery supports local victims of domestic violence in your community.
If you can, visit your local Hair Cuttery on May 2nd and 3rd, when you get your hair cut, they will donate a haircut to a DV survivor. If you can’t make it in, I pray you will share this on your social media channels, share it with your family and friends so that we can help thousands of domestic violence survivors get a free haircut. It may not seem like a lot, but it is. Every small act of kindness helps.
