Cyber Monday is usually a day that is known for great deals people hit their computers and run into the deal of the century or at least that is the hope. On this Cyber Monday, I got to do something even better.
There was an event held at Dave and Buster’s in Plymouth Meeting, where we got a chance to listen to some of the amazing work that is happening at some of the great organizations at work in our community. Goodwill and all of their work was highlighted. They do tons of work for people everyday. They offer job training, they serve a great number of people in the community by giving them opportunities they would not have otherwise. They also have the donation spots where people can turn in items they are no longer using and where they offer used items for a low cost. Talk about Recycling for a great cause.
Next we heard about a great cause, Matt’s Stockings, Elizabeth Norton shared with us about how one family turned the death of a child into a wonderful celebration that gives toys to kids in need in memory of 9 year old Matt. This would make a great service project for kids…
We also got to hear more about the exciting things happening at Alex’s Lemonade Stand. This organization does so much in the area of Pediatric Cancer support for both kids and parents, keeping alive the wonderful message of Alex, who was able to make a huge impact even though she was fighting cancer.
