Over the last 10 years, I’ve taken a closer look at what my family eats, what we have in our homes and after being totally horrified by what I’ve found I’ve committed to making better and more informed decisions.

I knew that this shift would not happened overnight and it hasn’t, changing everything takes time.  Step by step, attacking one product and one area at a time.

There are tons of options but, NOT ALL products ARE created equal.  I can’t tell you how many times I have looked at something I’ve purchased and said what in the world is in that, or who would put that in our food or in our homes. UGH!!!!

As a consumer, it’s my responsibility to investigate and switch out products that don’t meet my standards and that means I can’t take things at face value.
Finding brands that you love, trust, and that align with your values is a tall order. You actually have to research and then go look for them.  The Shiftcon Conference is a place that I found kindred souls and brands that get it.

Uncovering new brands has been fun, my family and I have enjoyed trying out new options and finding new favorites.  Making more informed choices and giving my family options that are healthy and that actually taste great is empowering.   So I wanted to share a few of my new product crushes courtesy of Shiftcon…hopefully you can find some products here you like and I can save you some time and energy.

prAna

They sell organic cotton clothing it’s comfy and it’s environmentally conscious.  They don’t just make  great clothes they are also committed to improving work conditions for the people who pick the cotton.  I knew there were pesticides on food, but it never dawned on me that the people who pick the cotton might be adversely affected by pesticides too.  prAna solves that problem by making clothing that looks and feels great, while they also protect the health of those who help our clothing get to market.  Win-Win. Uncle Matt’s

I had never heard of Uncle Matt’s orange juice before and one taste was all I needed.  It was sooooo good and the addition of both probiotics and turmeric is insanely genius.  This orange juice not only popped with flavor, but you felt so good drinking it.  I have totally added it to my grocery list and it lasted for a whopping two days in our house, so needless to say that it was a big hit.  Organic, tastes great, not too sweet and good for you. #SOLD

Republic of Tea

I am an avid tea drinker and Republic of Tea is amazing.  This Honey Lemon was a constant companion.  The flavor was light and refreshing and Green Tea is something I am always looking to add to my diet.  I had it without sugar and man oh man was it good.  Another new addition to the grocery list. #CantGetEnough

When I came home with this bamboo tea tumbler with an infuser my husband almost lost his mind.

He couldn’t wait to take it off my hands..no sir, get your own.  Needless to say, he got one for Christmas to keep the peace in our house.  If you want one, here is the link. I use mine often and I love it.  He uses his everyday.

They also have a brand new line of Super Green teas with amazing variety.  They have everything from weight loss to calming flavors.

My husband has been sighted sneaking upstairs with a cup of hot tea in hand.  It’s been a real hit at my house and the fact that it’s organic is a bonus.

Rebbl

I’ve heard about them before and I have to say I was REALLY impressed with their drinks and their mission.  The ingredients are incredible, super foods on FLEEK!  They have elixirs and protein drinks, you can find out more about them here.  Grabbing something healthy on the go isn’t always easy, but their selection is incredible.  Their golden milk is not only a great to go option, they have plenty of other flavors you don’t want to miss.  I tried Reishi Chocolate at the suggestion of one of my friends and I really enjoyed that one as well. Refreshing and nutritions I am a BIG Rebbl fan.

Boiron

They are a favorite that I can never say enough about whether it is a sore muscle or if I feel a cold coming on they are always a go to favorite.

My daughter even loves them, which is saying a lot. Boiron’s Oscillococcinum is the first thing I pick up when I’ve been around other sick people or I feel like a cold is coming my way.

BioKleen

I’m committed to being as clean as possible in every possible way and I never thought of detergent before, but I should have.  Laundry detergent goes into our water supply and I’m not totally convinced that all of those chemicals can be filtered out.  After hearing about BioKleen I changed our detergent over a month ago without saying a word.  I wasn’t sure if there would be an uproar or complaints, but nope.  My clothes are clean, the scent is mild and even my husband uses it, and everyone is dare I say happy with the outcome.  The company is family owned and made in America another bonus.

So, I am looking forward to trying out some of their other products.  They have everything from dish detergent to all purpose cleaner.

Now What?
