NEW YEAR: Change
WOW! 2013: a time for change(s). The second day of 2013 and I’ve taken the time to reflect on what went well in 2012 and what I can change in 2013. There’s no laundry list of resolutions instead there are specific areas I will work on. Life is a journey and I’ll use this as my roadmap to my next step on life’s ladder. So here are a few changes I’ll be making in 2013 and perhaps you are willing to join me.
- Daily Prayer and Mediation – taking the first 10-15 minutes of the day to read (aloud) a verse or two in the bible, reflect on the meaning of the message and use it throughout the day and in my life.
- Exercise – a 30 minute walk and sometime doing some weight training will help to keep my physical body in shape and my mind sharp because when walking and lifting weights you must be focused.
- Relationships – spending time with family and friends is so important. And I admit I’ve been weak in this area. Catching up by phone…and yes I mean an actual conversation, not just a text message or a facebook post, even sending a note that says hello and encourages — does some good.
These are my changes for 2013. I really hope you’ll join me and commit to at least one and let me know how these small changes work in your life. Until next time, I’m Sabrina Umstead Smith (www.forgive4u.com) .
